Refugees are good for the economy!

Health & Human Services issued a report over the summer saying, "refugees brought in $63 billion more in government revenue over the past decade than they cost agencies." The US welcomed 110,000 refugees last year. Trump wants to reduce that number to 50,000 starting on Oct. 1st. Tell your representatives in Congress that we are a nation of immigrants and now is not the time to shut our doors to international refugees.

It’s time to end gun violence.

What happens in Vegas... is going to happen someplace else. It's time to tell Congressmen to stop taking blood money from the NRA and then tweeting about "thoughts and prayers." Demand your elected officials pass common sense gun legislation before another senseless killing happens.

Demand help for Puerto Rico.

3.4 million US citizens live in Puerto Rico, and they are entitled to the same government response as any state. But half of Americans don’t even know that. Imagine if your community was being treated like this in the aftermath of a natural disaster. Tell your elected officials the relief effort in PR is just as important as Texas and Florida.

Lock THEM up…

When you build your campaign on the non-scandal of using a private email server, you'd think that would dissuade you from using one of your own. But that's not what Jared and Ivanka did. Make Congress investigate them like they looked into Clinton last year.

Stop wasting our tax dollars on private jets.

Tom Price may be out at Health and Human Services, but the private flights haven't stopped. Tell your elected officials you didn't send them to Washington so they could keep up with the Kardashians.

Stop tax cuts for the rich.

If it becomes law, the framework released on Wednesday by the White House would be the biggest tax overhaul since Ronald Reagan was president. The plan would cut corporate taxes from 35 percent to 20 percent, and reduce the top individual rate from 39.6 percent to 35 percent. That's great news... for the 1%, and no one else. The GOP is trying to peddle their tax plan as relief for hard-working Americans that will pay for itself by unleashing startling economic growth. But the numbers don't lie. Instead, the plan is likely to further balloon the national debt by cutting taxes for top-earners, whose share of national wealth is approaching levels not seen since the Great Depression. Tell your elected officials that it's time for real tax reform for the majority. Not a handout for the 1%. (And don't forget - we still have no idea how Trump's personal finances will be affected by these proposed changes because we STILL haven't seen his tax returns.)

It’s time to turn our back on the gun lobby.

The House is considering some dangerous gun safety rollbacks as part of the Sportsmen's Heritage Bill {H.R.3668}. Items include repealing controls on the sale of gun silencers to civilians and making it more difficult for federal regulators to control armor-piercing bullets — a particular threat to police officers wearing bullet-resistant vests, far from the hunting grounds of sportsmen. Tell your Congressmen this is ludicrous.

Um, why are we giving Equifax $7 mil?

Now. Remember Equifax? One of the big 3 credit-rating agencies? The one that was hacked so badly this year, it let the personal information of more than **one hundred million people ** flow like a fire hose into the dark recesses of the 'net? Yeah, well the government just awarded Equifax a multi-million dollar contract to do work for the IRS. Tell your elected officials Equifax has bad credit with you.

Um, they’re still banning Muslims.

Version 3.0 of Trump's travel ban is still a Muslim ban. Adding Chad, Venezuela and North Korea to the list is just window dressing. Tell your elected officials to stand up to this administration and put an end to this religious intolerance under the guise of national security.

No bigots on the bench.

It's the 21st century, tell your Senators that you insist they reject the confirmation of judicial nominees with track records as bigots, racists or any other horrible character flaws (like a desire to overturn Roe v. Wade).

Immigrants shouldn’t have to be Facebook friends with the government.

The Department of Homeland Security is planning to collect social media info on all immigrants. But wait, there's more: the rule would also apply to those who have already obtained a green card or gone through the naturalization process. Tell DHS absolutely not!

No more Twitter diplomacy.

If Trump can't control his Twitter feed, it's time for that company do something. Demand  your legislators pressure companies like Twitter to update its user agreements to reflect the dangerousness of the Trump era. No one wants nuclear war that's triggered by a tweet.

Prevent teen pregnancy.

The Trump administration has quietly axed $213.6 million in teen pregnancy prevention programs and research at more than 80 institutions around the country, including Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles and Johns Hopkins University. These 5-year grants funded research into finding the most effective ways to prevent teen pregnancy. Surprise, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under Trump supports abstinence only education despite its ineffectiveness.

Stop fracking on public lands.

The Bureau of Land Management was protecting our parklands from the environmental degradation of fracking. The Trump administration is trying to rescind the "Oil and Gas; Hydraulic Fracturing on Federal and Indian Lands" rule. Tell Michael Nedd that this is unacceptable.

Tell the Justice Department to GTFO.

Tell your elected officials to keep Jeff Sessions' Napoleon complex in check. He's demanded that the website-hosting company DreamHost turn over identifying information on visitors to a website used to organize protests during the president’s inauguration in January, handed down charges against more than 200 protesters arrested on Inauguration Day and eventually increased the severity of those charges to include charges for inciting rioting, conspiracy to riot, and destruction of property, and let's not forget he put a woman on trial for laughing during his Senate confirmation hearing. Don't worry, no one's laughing now.

Where the judges at?

Immigration judges have been relocated by the Trump Administration to courts that are closer to the southern border as part of its crackdown on illegal immigration. That decision is draining resources from New York City's immigration court — the busiest in the nation, with a backlog of 80,000 cases. Tell the administration to keep judges where they're needed most.

Hate in the workplace will not be tolerated.

Sexual orientation has no bearing in the workplace. This is the 21st century and Americans are free to love who they want. And yet, the Department of Justice is once again inserting itself into an argument that has long been put to rest - gays in the workplace. Tell AG Jeff Sessions that enough is enough!
Jeff Sessions is THE WORST.

Take the FML out of the FMLA

Protect us from the Harvey Damage we can’t see.

Tell your elected officials that we all deserve the right to know what toxins are being released in our communities by creating stronger environmental regulations. DeVos protects rapists’ rights over their victims’.

In a speech at George Mason University, Secretary of Education, Betsy DeVos announced her intention to roll back Obama-era guidance that forced universities that receive federal funding to take more aggressive action against campus sexual assault. These rollbacks will ease the burden and process on alleged attackers rather than protecting the alleged victims. We shouldn't be surprised that someone appointed by an admitted sexual assailant would do this, but we're still disgusted.
