Say no to tax cuts that hurt the poor.

We know the tax reform proposals are bad news for a number of reasons, but in addition to lowering taxes for businesses and many individuals, the Senate bill also makes a major change to health insurance that the CBO projects would have a harsh impact on lower-income families. By 2019, Americans earning less than $30,000 a year would be worse off under the Senate bill, CBO found. By 2021, Americans earning $40,000 or less would be net losers, and by 2027, most people earning less than $75,000 a year would be worse off. On the flip side, millionaires and those earning $100,000 to $500,000 would be big beneficiaries, according to the CBO’s calculations. Tell your Senators this is unacceptable!

The Consumer Federal Protection Bureau needs protection, not confusion.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau protects the rights of individual consumers like you and me from big banks and corporations.Let's remember, the CFPB has helped individuals recover more than "$12 billion in relief, including canceled debt and compensation, to customers wronged by banks, credit unions, payday lenders and credit card companies." Tell your representatives that Mick Mulvaney, who call the CFPB a "joke" in 2014, has no business running the Bureau. Acting Director, Leandra English, needs the support of Congress!

Keep Tom Cotton FAR away from the CIA.

Trump seems to believe that the entire government should serve his interests and desires, in the same way that his family business did (and still does) when he was (and still is) a real-estate mogul. Pompeo’s move to the State Department and Cotton’s ascension to Langley would further consolidate that effort. Plus Cotton has zero experience in Intelligence, or in leading a large organization and is wildly partisan and has defended Trump at his most indefensible. Tell your Senators to reject Cotton as CIA director.

Stop tax cuts for the rich.

The GOP is trying to peddle their tax plan as relief for hard-working Americans that will pay for itself by unleashing startling economic growth. But the numbers don't lie. Instead, the plan is likely to further balloon the national debt by cutting taxes for top-earners, whose share of national wealth is approaching levels not seen since the Great Depression. Tell your elected officials that it's time for real tax reform for the majority. Not a handout for the 1%. (And don't forget - we still have no idea how Trump's personal finances will be affected by these proposed changes because we STILL haven't seen his tax returns.)

Tell your elected representatives that you disagree with repealing the estate tax. And don't believe the GOP lies that estate taxes hurt small famers.

Women’s bodies don’t belong in tax reform.

We all want to save for college for our children but NOT by allowing the GOP tax plan to sneak in anti-abortion lingo as part of the fine print. Tell your elected officials that you won't let them get away with this kind of sleight of hand!

The judicial nominee who’s never tried a case is also married to a Trump administration lawyer.

Trump sure knows how to pick 'em... The nominee "forgot" to mention he's married to the Chief of Staff for the White House Counsel. It should go without saying but, tell your Senators to vote NO on Brett Talley's confirmation.

The Trump Tax Scam hurts Blue States that didn’t vote for him.

The GOP tax bill is a behemoth piece of legislation that could widen American economic inequality while diminishing the power of local communities to marshal relief for vulnerable people — especially in high-tax states like California and New York, which, not coincidentally, tend to vote Democratic. Tell your representatives that this bill is doing all the wrong things in all the wrong places.

Leave it in Tel Aviv.

Tell President Trump to leave our US embassy where it belongs (with many other countries' embassies) in Tel Aviv. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem would an unnecessary expense as well as a security risk to our diplomats. And that's before we even scratch the surface of a peace accord between Israel and Palestine...

Shutdown the government shutdown.

Up against a Dec. 8 spending deadline, House Republican leaders are likely to introduce a measure that would extend current funding until Dec. 22, and then if they still don't have a plan, pass another stopgap into the New Year. Tell your elected officials to get their acts together and pass a spending bill. That's their one job.

Happy Hannukah: Make Kushner give up his cash.

We need net neutrality.

The FCC's proposed rules would replace the Obama administration's 2015 rules that prohibited blocking, throttling and paid prioritization. The new rules would allow internet service providers to do all those things, but just require ISPs to disclose any blocking, throttling and prioritization of content -- what some call a "fast lane" -- of its own content or a partner's content for pay or not. Tell your elected officials that we want, and need, a free and open internet for all.

No more Twitter diplomacy.

Hate in the workplace will not be tolerated.

Sexual orientation has no bearing in the workplace. This is the 21st century and Americans are free to love who they want. And yet, the Department of Justice is once again inserting itself into an argument that has long been put to rest - gays in the workplace. Tell AG Jeff Sessions that enough is enough!
Jeff Sessions is THE WORST.

It’s time to end gun violence.

It's been time to end gun violence for a long time, so tell your elected officials you want to protect Americans more than you want to protect their rights to bear arms.

We need CHIP funding, NOW.

Nearly 9 million youngsters and 370,000 pregnant women nationwide receive care because of CHIP, the Children's Health Insurance Program. But, officials in nearly a dozen states are preparing to notify families that this crucial health insurance program for low-income children is running out of money for the first time since its creation two decades ago, putting coverage for many at risk by the end of the year because Congress missed a Sept. 30 deadline to extend funding. Many states have enough money to keep their individual programs afloat for at least a few months, but Arizona, California, Minnesota, Ohio, Oregon and the District of Columbia will run out of CHIP money by Dec. 31 if lawmakers do not act. Others will start to exhaust resources the following month. Tell your elected officials to put politics aside and extend CHIP funding immediately.

At this time, 903 people have been killed by police in 2017. Let's end police brutality in the new year. Tell Congress that it's time to legislate for better police training in an effort to put an end to the deaths of so many innocent people.
